Mrs. Barkey started her teaching career at Logan Center in South Bend in 1976. She then moved to Illinois and taught in a Pediatric Nursing care facility. She returned to Indiana IN 1988 and was hired by WaNee as a special education resource teacher for the Middle School in Wakarusa. Most of her time was spend at Wakarusa Elementary as the Multi-categorical special education class.
Mrs. Barkey graduated from Jackson High School in South Bend, Ball State University with a major in Mental Disabilities and a minor in Orthopedic and Special Health Problems, Indiana University in South Bend with a masters in Behavior Disorders and have an endorsement in Learning Disabilities from Rockford College, Rockford, Illinois.
She has one son, Michael, who has 2 children, Ethan and Karina. When not watching my grandchildren ride their horses, I am busy doing things with my parents.
