Mrs. Krystalynn Gross:
In 2006 I was given the privilege of beginning my teaching career at Nappanee Elementary. I have taught first grade for the past seven years. I have also had the opportunity to teach kindergarten, second grade, and reading recovery. I enjoy the time that I am able to spend with my 1st graders and strive to create a learning environment where each child feels comfortable and successful.
In 2002 I graduated from NorthWood High School and later graduated from Grace College with my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. My husband, Pat and I were married in 2007. We have two boys. Camden is six and Connor is four. Camden is looking forward to starting kindergarten at NES this year, and Connor is excited to start preschool! They are so much fun and we love to watch them discover new things every day. We currently live in Nappanee and love spending time outdoors with our golden retriever, Bailey.
Parent involvement is an important part of a child's education. Never hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas that you have. Feel free to email me at email@example.com.
Mrs. Mindi Mattern:
I am so blessed to be at Nappanee Elementary! Teaching first grade is such a joy! Your child will learn so much this year and will grow greatly, both as a writer and reader!
My husband Dustin and I have 3 children. Charlie is 10 and in fourth grade. He is our little engineer and loves knowing how things work. I have to watch him….he likes to disassemble my appliances at home! Brennan is 8 and in second grade. He is our little comedian. He loves to make people laugh and has a giggle that could cheer up even the cloudiest of days! Our sweet Miranda just turned 5. She doesn't know a stranger, loves to sing and embraces life with every ounce of her little body. She will be starting her second year of preschool this year. Our life is a wonderful kind of crazy and I enjoy every moment of it!
I have been teaching in Wa-Nee for 15 years. I count it as a privilege to be a part of such an excellent school corporation and community. My role as your child’s teacher is very important to me. I trust that together we will make a great team to create a productive year of learning for your student.

Mrs. Tammy Miller:
consider it a great honor and blessing to be your child's First Grade teacher!
I have taught in Wa-Nee Schools since 1989.
I am married to Myron Miller. We have two sons: Jared, a recent college graduate and Joel, a freshman in college. We live in Bristol. We enjoy biking and playing games together. My family and I are actively involved at Pleasant View Mennonite Church.
I graduated from Goshen College and also have my Master's Degree in Education. I taught Kindergarten for 18 years (many years half-time to be home with our boys when they were young). In 2004, I was trained in Reading Recovery: an intervention to help First Graders with reading. Please take time to read to your child daily and talk/listen to him/her. Love and encouragement are wonderful gifts you can give to your child. I look forward to teaching and helping your child grow and learn this year!
Good communication between us will benefit your child and help me to be more effective. Please feel free to contact me at any time to discuss any questions, concerns, or ideas you have. Prayer is powerful; please remember me and our class in your prayers. We both want your child to have a happy and productive year in First Grade!
