NWHS Morning Announcements: Monday, Feb. 10th, 2020

The Varsity Girls Basketball team beat Lakeland on Saturday night by a score of 56-34 to win the IHSAA Sectional 20 title. Thank you SO MUCH to all the students who came out Saturday night in Lagrange!  The BlackSwish will be back in action Saturday in the regional versus Mishawaka Marian at Jimtown at 10:00 AM.  Congrats ladies and Go BlackSwish.

 

This week we are celebrating Sweetheart Week 2020:

=         Tonight is Trivia Night at 6 pm: You don’t have to pre-register, but it helps us organize the cafeteria, so grab some friends and sign up during lunch.

=         Tomorrow’s dress up day is Tye-Dye. Also we will have tailgate games and root beer floats in the North Surge at 5:30 tomorrow night before the home varsity basketball game. Remember, every student gets in free to the game.

 

Sweetheart Dance tickets: can still be purchased for $3 through lunch on Friday.   

At the door they will be $5. Make sure to sign up for Trivia night and Volleyball! Looking forward to a great week, if you have any questions make sure to find a sweetheart poster throughout the school!

 

The annual Red Regiment Backyard Bar-b-que fundraiser is this Friday night from 5-7 in the cafeteria. Enjoy a taste of summer in February with burgers, brats & hot dogs along with your favorite cookout side dishes! Tickets are $6 each and are available at the door.

Seniors: The NorthWood Scholarship Foundation “Phone-a-thon” sign-up sheets are in the Guidance Office. You will need to bring your fully-charged school device that evening.  The deadline for your application, Phone-a-thon, and call list is THIS Wednesday, Feb. 12th.  

 

FCDC Souper Bowl Work Day: You’re invited to participate in a work day to produce soup bowls for the FCDC Soup for A Cause event that will be held at: Coppes Commons. 10:00 to 4:00 on Saturday, February 22nd.  Drinks and snacks are provided throughout the event. YOU DO NOT NEED CERAMICS EXPERIENCE TO PARTICIPATE!  See Miss Emenhiser to pick up a permission slip.

 

Baseball players: due to Sweetheart Week, we will hold our practice on Tuesday after school at 3:15 in the AC.

 

There will be a call-out meeting for any potential or interested baseball players in Mr. Risedorph’s room (903) during Homeroom on Wednesday. We will be passing out information for team shop, equipment and apparel.

 

Attention all boys who are interested in joining the Track team this year, we will have a meeting during HomeRoom this Wednesday in the LGI. See Coach Boocher if you are unable to attend.

Attention Trap Shooting Club members, there is a mandatory meeting this week during homeroom in Mr. Hummel's room 616.  If you cannot attend, please see Mr. Hummel as soon as you can.  Thank you!

Girls Track Practice will begin Monday, February 17 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the Activity Center.  You must have an IHSAA physical completed and turned in before you are able to practice.
