NWHS Morning Announcements: Tuesday, Feb. 11th, 2020
 
This week we are celebrating Sweetheart Week 2020:
  • Today’s dress-up day is Tye-Dye. We will have tailgate games and root beer floats in the North Surge at 5:30 pm before the home varsity basketball game.
  • Tomorrow’s dress-up is Western/Denim Day. Rock out in your jeans, boots, and denim jackets.
The Second Round Sweetheart Voting is now complete. Congrats to the following for representing your class on the Sweetheart Court. Freshman – Katie Wenz. Sophomore – Lizzie Hilderbrant. Junior – Ashlyn Feller

Senior Queen Candidates – Elisa Espinosa, Alex Jesse, Araceli Martinez & Senior King Candidates – Jason Jackson, Caden Jenkins, and Mason Kiel

Sweetheart Dance tickets: can still be purchased for $3 through lunch on Friday. Tickets at the door are $5. normal'> normal'>Painting 1 students from 1st trimester students: Come get your oil and acrylic painting in Mrs. McGowen’s room!normal'> 

The annual Red Regiment Backyard Bar-b-que fundraiser is this Friday night from 5-7 in the cafeteria. Enjoy a taste of summer in February with burgers, brats & hot dogs along with your favorite cookout side dishes! Tickets are $6 each and are available at the door.

FFA members need to stop by Mrs Beers room to pick up a worker auction form.normal'> normal'>Seniors: The NorthWood Scholarship Foundation “Phone-a-thon” sign-up sheets are in the Guidance Office. The deadline for your application, Phone-a-thon, and call list is TOMORROW by 3:30pm.   normal'> normal'>Baseball players:  due to Sweetheart Week, we will hold our practice today after school at 3:15 in the AC.

If you took the ASVAB test on January 23rd, please come to the cafeteria during homeroom to get your results.  BRING YOUR DEVICE.  If you are a career center student, there will be an afternoon makeup session announced, at a later time.

There will be a call-out meeting for any potential or interested baseball players in Mr. Risedorph’ s room (903) during Homeroom on Wednesday. We will be passing out information for team shop, equipment and apparel.normal'> 

Next trimester’s ACP Composition students need to attend a brief meeting on Wednesday in Mrs. Slone’s room, 808. Registration for the course must be completed prior to Friday and Mrs. Slone needs verification of your enrollment. Even if you believe you are enrolled, come to the brief meeting during homeroom.  If you have other meetings to attend, please come to 808 first to make sure your name is on the list of enrollees. 

Attention all boys who are interested in joining the Track team this year, there’s a meeting during HomeRoom in the LGI. See Coach Boocher if you are unable to attend.

Attention Trap Shooting Club members, there is a mandatory meeting during homeroom in Mr. Hummel's room 616.  If you cannot attend, please see Mr. Hummel as soon as you can.  Thank you!

The National Honor Society will meet during homeroom with the junior NHS members only.  Seniors, you do not need to attend this meeting.
