NORTHWOOD HIGH SCHOOL - MORNING ANNOUNCMENTS

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2ND, 2020

 

 

  • Any student interest in joining anyAcademic Teams this year is invited to meet in the cafeteria right after school Thursday, October 8th.  This is an information, question and answer session.  Information about academic teams will be share, and each coach will provide specifics on their topics of study this year.  You do not need to have competed before to join.  Everyone is welcome to come and find out more about academic teams.  The meeting will conclude by 3:15pm.

 

  • Any student who would like to order a music letter jacket this year can get ordering information in the Performing Arts Office. Forms and money are due Thursday, October 8. See Mrs. Pauls in the Performing Arts Office if you have questions

 

  • Next week we will be celebrating German-American week. This week celebrates the contributions Germans and those of German ancestry have made to America and American culture. Listen to the announcements next week for a chance to win German gummi-bears or German chocolate. Since we are living through a pandemic, this year’s contest will be concentrating on contributions Germans have made to medicine and our health. A description of a person and their work will be given. If you know who it might be, stop by Frau Grimm’s room, put your name and answer on a piece of paper and you may be drawn to win. This contest is open to any student or staff member. Good luck!

In addition to this, any German student past or present, can stop by Frau Grimm’s room for a German-American week locker decoration. First come, first serve.

 

  • The 8th ranked boys soccer team finished their season in dominating fashion with a 6-1 win over Bethany Christian. The win moves their record to 10-3-3 on the season. Andre De Freitas led the team with 4 goals. His final goal of the night broke his previous single season goal scoring record with 25 goals on the season. Sebastian Guillen added two goals of his own. Congrats on an amazing regular season boys! Sectional begins Monday at West Noble.
