Wa-Nee
Community School Parents,
In light of Governor Holcomb’s most recent executive order, Wa-Nee Community School buildings will be closed to all non-essential personnel at the end of the day Tuesday, March 24. Beginning March 25, only essential staff will be allowed in our buildings. We ask that you continue to routinely check email, our schools’ websites, and our social media pages for updates as we will continue to provide the most up to date information as we receive it from government officials.
REMOTE LEARNING WILL CONTINUE: We will continue with our Remote Learning on
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Our teachers
are working hard to meet the challenges put before them on a daily basis and
will remain on call for families on these days.
We want to encourage you to take advantage of the resources being made
available and use the virtual learning platforms as much as possible. When paper/pencil packets are necessary, we
ask that you please contact the school where your child(ren) attends and we
will work individually with you to meet this need.
REVISED FOOD SERVICE SCHEDULE: We want to continue to encourage any family who has a need to
take advantage of the student meals that are being provided. Beginning on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 we
will be revising the schedule for picking up student meals to a Monday and
Wednesday pick-up from 11-1 at the following locations:
=
NorthWood Middle School (West Side Entrance)
=
Nappanee Elementary School (Main Entrance)
=
Millwood Acres (Entrance)
=
Meadows (Office)
=
Northside Manor (Parking Lot Between Buildings)
=
Yellow Creek Mennonite Church (South Parking
Lot)
=
Harrison Ridge (Entrance on CR 28)
=
Recovery Park
Meals
provided on Mondays will include a meal for Tuesday and the meals provided Wednesdays
will include meals for Thursday and Friday.
Meal service will continue to be available through Friday, May 1 and will also be available during the week
of Spring Break (April 6-10, 2020).
OFFICE HOURS: PLEASE
NOTE: School offices will be open as needed on an appointment only basis
effective Wednesday, March 25, 2020. We understand the hardship this closing will have on families, however, the health and safety of our community and staff must be our primary concern.
Again, more
than ever, we want to encourage parents/guardians to be prudent and to follow
the social distancing guidance from the state and local health officials. Please keep your child(ren) home and limit
unnecessary travel. Avoid large groups and social gatherings.
I am extremely thankful to you for your understanding during this prolonged and unprecedented school closure.
Sincerely,
Scot D.
