Today is a BLACK day.

The cafeteria would like to give away some Starbucks gift cards just in time for Christmas.  On Wednesday December 4 every student that eats a school meal will be entered into a drawing to win a 10 dollar gift card.  There will be one gift card for each grade level.  Looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday and Good Luck.
 
Door decorating season is upon us! For advisories that wish to participate, the theme this year is “Christmas Songs”. Only the door itself will be judged and all decorating needs to be finished by the end of the day on Wednesday, December 18. There will be one winning team from each grade this year. Start planning your advisory ideas this week!
 
Attention all girls!  It is finally that time of the year to sign-up for this year’s girls’ basketball teams!  The 3-day tryout period begins on Monday, December 16th for any 7th or 8th grade girl wanting to play.  Any 7th grade girls interested in trying out for the team can sign up in Coach Green’s room.  Any 8th grade girl who hasn’t had a chance to sign up yet can see Coach Hess.  Remember, you MUST have a physical on file in order to play basketball, so be sure to get that taken care of if you haven’t already!  Come be a part of the amazing Black Swish program!  Your coaches are looking forward to a great season ahead!  Go Black Swish!
 
Any 6th grade Club One girls’ basketball player interested in being a manager for the 7th grade varsity team should come see Coach Yoder this week.  There will be a one-day tryout for the manager positions after school on Tuesday, December 10th.  Come see Coach Yoder for more information and to sign-up!
 
8th grade girls Basketball, 8th Girls basketball. We currently have 15 girls signed up for girls basketball. We are in need of 6-8 more girls who would like to play 8th grade girls basketball. See Mr. Hess room 802 ASAP.
 
Love books? Wakarusa Public Library has a Battle of the Books Club that you can join! Patrons in grades 6-12 are invited to come December 2nd from 6:00-7:00 pm to talk about any of the books you have read from the battle of the books list. Contact the library for more information or for a list of the books. No registration needed and snacks are provided!
 
NorthWood Girls Soccer would like to invite any 8th grade girl who is interested in playing high school soccer next season to our winter open gym. The open gym sessions start on December 10th from 6-7:30 in the AC at Northwood high school. Please bring your tennis shoes as we will be playing on gym floor surfaces.  Please enter through the south entrance doors. If you have any questions please ask the office for Coach Shields contact information. 
 
Attention wrestlers!  We have open mat tonight at the high school from 6:00 – 7:30.    This wrestling opportunity is for anyone interested in wrestling.   Please enter through the athletic doors and go to the wrestling room in the pit. for open mat wrestling. 
 
Attention 6th graders!  Our elementary wrestling league will be starting on Wednesday.   It is not to late to sign up! 
The wrestling camp is for grades 1-6 and lasts just 4 days! This is the perfect time for 6th graders to try the sport of wrestling! Did you know wrestling will make you a better football player?    Wrestilng is the one of the best sports to make you better at everything!  Good news, you still have time to register and turn your form in.   Please  pick up forms and turn them into Mr. DeMien or the front office.

Last Tuesday the 7th grade Varsity travelled to Elkhart West Side and won their game 42-28. Leaders included: Anderson Bickel 14 points, Landon Deatsman 9 points and EJ Riddle 8 points. Bickel led all rebounders with 7, Miles Coblentz and Grayson Rhoade led with3 assists each and Coblentz led the defense with 3 steals.
