WCS to utilize e-learning days for all weather-related closures
We hope your families are doing well as we step into fall.  Thank you in advance for your understanding and flexibility as we have launched our 2020-2021 school year.  We appreciate your partnership.

Starting in January, WCS is planning to utilize e-learning days for all weather-related closures for the remainder of this school year. To help our students and staff prepare, WCS has scheduled a planned e-learning day for October 15, 2020 (Thursday before scheduled fall break).

Many of our students are just getting used to taking home devices on a regular basis.  The scheduled e-learning day will allow us to test home network connectivity and prepare our students to properly return devices during the next school day. If you have concerns that internet service at home is not capable of supporting e-learning, we encourage families to contact our Director of Technology (Ryan Mattern [email protected] or 574-773-4127) prior to October 15th to discuss options WCS is able to help provide.

During our planned e-learning day, each school cafeteria will offer “e-learning meals” for students.  These packed meals will be available for grab and go on Wednesday the 14th when students leave the school building.

After our initial scheduled e-learning day is complete, we will gather data and feedback to determine our needs moving forward. Additional scheduled e-learning days may occur to help us prepare to utilize e-learning for weather related school closures beginning January 4, 2021.

If you have questions or needs as we prepare for our scheduled e-learning day on October 15th, please feel welcome to contact your child’s school or our administration office.
