May 19, 2022 Announcements
All students:  Please check the list in your Advisory class of students who ordered a yearbook. Students who ordered yearbooks will get them on the last day of school. Additional yearbooks will be for sale in the surge, on the last day of school during yearbook signing for $20. Please see Mrs. Persing in room 811 with any questions.

Device collection will be on Tuesday, May 24th during your advisory class for grades 7 & 8.  6th grade will be doing their device collection on Monday, May 23rd during advisory. The following must be returned: Laptop and 2-piece charger.  If you have a hotspot checked out to you. The hotspot and charger will also be due at that time.  Any unreturned equipment will be charged to your account.

This summer there will be a Junior Golf Camp hosted by McCormick Creek Golf Course.  This golf camp is for ages 10-13.  Please pick up a flyer in the main office window if you are interested.

Any 6th, 7th, or 8th-grade grade boy interested in attending a NorthWood High School Basketball Camp this summer can pick up a registration form in the Main Office window.

The Nappanee parks department is offering several summer programs including art in the park, dog training, golf, tennis, and karate lessons plus kids camps.  If any of these programs interest you, please pick up an information flyer.  

7th grade
All 7th-grade grade boys who signed up to play 8th-grade grade football or who are interested in playing football next fall need to see Mr. Hess on Friday after the announcements. The meeting will take place between the 7th and 8th-grade grade hallway by the front of the library.

8th grade ONLY:
8th-grade grade graduation will be tonight at 6:00 PM at the football field.  Since the ceremony is outdoors, please dress appropriately for the weather.  The gates will open at 5:30 PM.  Please be in attendance no later than 5:45 PM.  If you have attending guests who are unable to sit in the bleachers, you can bring a lawn chair for them to sit on in the area beside the bleachers.  Graduation should last approximately one hour. 
 
All 8th-grade grade students who are taking freshman summer PE need to meet in the old gym on Friday during advisory with Mr. DeMien and Mr. Knafel. 

Panther Athletic Results
On a beautiful evening for golf, the Panthers Coed Golf team beat Urey Middle School with a team score of 192 to 260. Colton Rouch led the Panthers with a low medalist score of 41. This score was also his personal best of the season. The following golfers also scored their season's best scores last Thursday at Swan Lake Golf Course: Joey Slone, Collin Goss, Colin Moyer, and Mavox Tompos.
Big 11 Conference tournament Results for the 7th and 8th-grade grade girls Track team :
 
7th Grade Girls: Gwen Winslow placed 3rd in the discuss throw and Maddy Barrett placed 6th.  The 400 relay team of Jordyn McMillan, Sami Vance, Kinzee Hartman, and Lily Reaker placed 6th. The 1600 relay of Ava Tyler, Kinzee Hartman, Avery Hess, and Lizzy Hertsel placed 6th. Lily Reaker was Big 11 Conference Champion in the Long Jump!!
 
8th Grade Girls:  Aaniyah Bohner placed 3rd in the 200 and 2nd place in the 100. Aaniyah also placed 3rd in the High Jump. The 400 relay team of Aaniyah Bohner, Cali Miller, Claire Owen, and Kyla Mishler placed 7th.  Faith Towler placed 7th in the hurdles and Kyla Mishler placed 8th. The 1600 relay team of Naima Ghaffar, Kennedy Griffin, Aailiah Weisand, and Faith Towler placed 8th.  Hana Clyde placed 3rd in the mile run and set a new school record!!!
