Sensational Second Grade
In second grade at Wakarusa Elementary students work at becoming more independent learners. Second graders transition from "learning to read" to "reading to learn". They also learn to express their thoughts and explain their thinking through writing. In math students not only learn foundational skills, but practice applying what is learned.
Second grade will feature the following academic subjects and activities:

LANGUAGE ARTS
- All classes stress reading for enjoyment and comprehension in order to become lifelong readers.
- Each student will read "just right books" of their own choice as well as books at their instructional level.
