Wakarusa Elementary Home

The mission of Wakarusa Elementary School is to provide a safe and caring environment for the total child by incorporating individual learning styles, discipline, and respect while empowering each child with life-long learning skills.


 
Important School Information:
 
Office Hours: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
 
School Hours: 8:00 am - 2:10 pm (M, T, W, Th, F), 

Absences: To report an absence, you may e-mail Kari Shrock at: [email protected] or call the school by 8:30 am at 862-2000

Closings or Delays: There will be a red banner at the top of all Wa-Nee websites announcing a delay or closing.

If the weather looks like it might be necessary for school officials to delay or close the schools, please listen to local television stations: WNDU-TV or WSBT-TV or the following radio stations: WZOC (94.3 FM), WRSW (100.1 FM), WNSN (101.5 FM), WAWC (103.5 FM), WFRN (104.7 FM) WSBT (960 AM), WTRC (1340 AM)

Any and all announcements will be made on these stations as early as possible. If you do not hear an announcement, then you can expect school to begin at the regular time. Please do not call the school office to verify delay or closing information.

In the event that the weather conditions become hazardous during the school day and school officials deem it necessary to close the schools early, please work out a plan with your child so he/she knows what to do under these conditions.

Al terminar lo que ha sido un año escolar sin precedentes, quiero decirles "gracias" a cada uno de ustedes por su increíble apoyo durante estos últimos 10 meses.  No hay duda, este año ha sido una lucha para nuestros estudiantes, nuestro personal, y nuestra comunidad. Pero no podría estar más orgulloso y agradecido por la forma en que nosotros como comunidad nos unimos para enfrentar este desafío y aprovechar al máximo esta oportunidad para nuestros hijos.

End of Year Message from the Superintendent

As we finish off what has been an unprecedented school year, I want to say “thank you” to each of you for your incredible support over these last 10 months.  There is no question, this year has been a struggle for our students, our staff, and our community.  But I could not be more proud and grateful for the way we as a community rallied together to take this challenge head on and make the best of this opportunity for our kids.
