A Tradition of Excellence
Currently, the Wa-Nee Transportation Department consists of 60 active employees who utilize a fleet of 55 vehicles to transport over 2,500 students to and from school. On any given morning or afternoon, we transport approximately 70% of our student body and nearly 100% of our students for learning and extracurricular trips throughout the school year. We travel over 2,500 miles per day or 450,000 miles per school year, covering the 145 square miles of Wa-Nee territory and other Elkhart County locations.
Fourteen (14) schools are serviced as we meet the transportation needs of our general education, special education, preschool, Head Start, Achievement Academy, Elkhart Area Career Center, Young Adult, and Boys' and Girls' Club students.
Every school year we provide over 40,000 miles of extracurricular travel for our athletes, musicians, and academic students.
Our drivers are conscientious professionals who go above and beyond to ensure the safety of their passengers and the motorists with whom they share the road.
Our students are among the best and the brightest. They observe safety and behavior rules and they are taught to respect others.
Wa-Nee's "Tradition of Excellence" travels with us on our routes, field trips, and extracurricular events.
It is our privilege to serve the Wa-Nee Community.
