Delay and closure announcements will be made as early as possible. Once bus routes have begun, the day will proceed as scheduled. If you do not see an announcement, you can expect school to begin at the regular time. As a point of reference, school bus routes begin at 5:45 a.m. (7:45 a.m. after a delay has already been called.)
If there is a delay or closure, there will be a bright red message scrolling at the top of our webpage. We will also announce delays and closures on our Facebook page
Parents and guardians may receive alert notifications via email, text, and/or voice message. To access your alert notification settings, log in to your Family Access Skyward account. Messages are subject to individual phone settings and phone carrier processing. Do not solely rely on messages as your only source of information. Please check the webpage and Facebook accounts accordingly.
An early release from school is very rare and only used in extreme cases. In the event Wa-Nee must release students early, parents should have a prearranged plan for children to access homes.
Please know that decisions regarding weather-related delays and closing are made with our student’s safety as a priority. Some weather events happen late in the morning or during the day. As a parent, you may choose to keep your child home if you feel weather conditions warrant this decision. We ask you to follow the regular guidelines for reporting an absence when choosing this option.
