Physical Education

Welcome to P.E.!

Students here at Wakarusa Elementary learn the importance of staying physically active and fit. It is my goal as a physical educator to help students learn, grow and maintain healthy active lifestyles.

By following the NASPE (National Association for Sport and Physical Education) standards to guide my curriculum, I challenge all my students individually and collectively through individual and group activities. These activities will challenge students both physically and mentally. It is my goal to help students achieve their highest potential in fitness while gaining higher self esteem and self confidence.

I look forward to having each student in Physical Education class this year and will do my best to guide students in the direction of a healthy active lifestyle! -Mrs. Foor

Wakarusa Walkers

The Wakarusa Walkers club is a great opportunity for all 4th and 5th grade students to get more active during recess. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays the students can walk after lunch and earn rewards for how many miles they walk. At the end of each month if the students walk a specific number of miles, their name goes in a drawing and they also earn a special charm to add to their foot charm collection. Good Luck students and GET MOVING!!!

Presidents’ Challenge Fitness Testing

All 4th and 5th grade students are tested in the fall and spring in the following fitness areas.
