Third Grade

Mrs. Laura Hale:

I am very blessed to be teaching at Nappanee Elementary. It is truly an amazing place where children come first. I began by teaching art for a couple of years and then transitioned into the regular classroom.  I received my master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan in 2013. I have taught first, second, and third grades, but for the past few years I have been teaching third grade, which I love, because it is such an exciting year for students.

I am passionate about helping each student succeed. I truly understand that each child is unique and learns in his/her own way. I do my personal best to meet the individual needs of each student and help each child feel successful and confident.

I value parent communication and involvement, so please feel free to email me at [email protected], call, or even jot a little note if you have any questions or concerns. Together we can help your child have an exciting and successful year.

Mrs. Carrie Johnson:

I love being a third grade teacher at Nappanee Elementary!  I enjoy watching the children grow as learners and become more independent throughout the school year. I try my best to make learning fun each and every day.

I graduated from Purdue University with an Elementary teaching degree and a Kindergarten endorsement. My family and I live in Nappanee and truly enjoy all the opportunities this community has to offer. We love spending time outdoors and being with our family and friends.

I always appreciate good communication with parents so if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please email me at [email protected].

Mrs. Angie Swain:

Hello, my name is Angie Swain. It is my pleasure to teach in such an excellent school as Nappanee Elementary. I graduated with a bachelors and a master's degree from Ball State University and began teaching at Wa-Nee in 1984. I taught second grade for one year and then moved to third grade where I have taught ever since.

My goal each year is to reach the students' learning potential, academically and socially, so that they can achieve excellence. Along with staff and parental support, I hope to provide each child with a positive school experience.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to email me at [email protected].
