Hello!  I am beyond blessed to be a part of NES.  In 2021 I completed my first year as a school nurse.  I grew up in Syracuse and graduated from Wawasee High School in 2006.  In 2010 I graduated from Bethel College with my RN, BSN.  For most of my career as a registered nurse, I worked in family practice, caring for all ages. However, my passion in nursing has always been pediatrics.  To be able to provide care for and lead the children in our community excites me.

In 2011 I married my wonderful husband, Trevor Shields, who grew up in Nappanee and graduated from NWHS.  We live in Nappanee with our three children, Micah, Adah, Lydia and our dog, Duke.  I absolutely love being a part of and involved in this amazing community.

If you have any concerns or questions regarding your child/children, medically, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected] or call the school at 574-773-7421.

If you send medication to school, it must be labeled with the student's name and in the original container and kept in the nurse's office.

If your child has a cold, fever (100 degrees or above), or the flu, please take extra precaution and keep your child(ren) at home. Our school policy states "a child must be fever free (without medication) for 24 hours before returning to school".

We appreciate your support in helping us fight the illnesses that can easily be spread without careful management.
